The second day in Kyoto I woke up a bit earlier and went for a little morning walk. Close to the hotel was a nice neighbourhood temple, where some elderly people where doing gymnastics, lead by a monk and the radio programme.
They engaged me to join them and also do some sports. After that we had a nice conversation in broken english and a lot of handwaving. Really nice peoplee 🙂
I then went on to the river, which had some interesting buildings. It’s a nice area, in the back alleys it seems that there is some kind of entertainment district, judging by the amount of bars.
Further on I saw something entirely japanese: they not only use brooms to clean the streets, they actually vacuum them 🙂
